About the role:

Inventory accuracy matters at every step of our business. As the Inventory Lead, you’ll help protect inventory integrity across the Distribution Center by keeping counts accurate, investigating discrepancies, and making sure inventory processes are followed consistently.

This is a hands-on Lead role. You’ll work alongside the team while serving as the go-to resource for inventory questions, helping prioritize daily inventory work, training and guiding Warehouse Tech/Drivers, and stepping in to solve issues before they impact the operation. You’ll partner closely with DC Management to identify recurring problems, improve processes, and keep inventory moving accurately and efficiently.

While this role does not have direct supervisory responsibility, the Inventory Lead is expected to lead through experience, initiative, and influence by setting a strong example, supporting the team, and helping drive consistent execution.

Essential Functions:

Inventory Integrity & Leadership

  • Lead daily, weekly, and cyclical inventory counts across DC storage locations, helping prioritize work and ensuring counts are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies related to cycle counts, receiving, transfers, picking, and order fulfillment.
  • Dig into recurring inventory issues to identify root causes, document findings, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for inventory-related questions and issues on the warehouse floor, resolving issues when possible and escalating when needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS), including location, bin, and quantity accuracy.
  • Partner with DC Management to plan and execute physical inventories and other inventory control initiatives.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, training, and support to Warehouse Tech/Drivers on put away, picking, cycle counting, and inventory handling procedures.
  • Help coordinate inventory-related workflow and priorities based on daily business needs.
  • Monitor bin and location accuracy and identify opportunities to improve inventory processes, controls, and consistency.
  • Support the development and documentation of inventory procedures and best practices.
  • Lead by example by demonstrating accountability, attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to doing the job right.
  • Share knowledge and help build capability across the team through hands-on coaching and cross-training.

Warehouse and Distribution

  • Work alongside the team to support daily warehouse and distribution needs, including loading and unloading delivery vehicles.
  • Move merchandise safely and efficiently to and from assigned warehouse locations.
  • Use handheld inventory scanners and warehouse systems to pick and pack orders and process inbound and outbound inventory transactions.
  • Operate a company vehicle for the safe and timely delivery of merchandise to stores and customers, as needed and when authorized.
  • Follow all company safety standards and help reinforce safe work practices across the team.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and service-oriented approach when working with teammates, DC Management, stores, and customers.
  • Support changing business needs and special projects as assigned.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Inventory & Operational Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Associate degree, supply chain certification, or equivalent relevant experience is a plus. Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to understand instructions, communicate information clearly, and complete required documentation accurately.
  • 1+ years of experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or inventory control environment required.
  • Experience with cycle counting, inventory research, or inventory control processes strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control practices and cycle count processes.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and handheld inventory scanners.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to independently research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Comfortable digging into problems, asking questions, and identifying practical ways to improve how work gets done.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Lead & Collaboration Skills

  • Comfortable providing day-to-day direction, training, and guidance to peers without direct supervisory authority.
  • Takes ownership of assigned work and follows issues through to resolution.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and knows when to resolve an issue independently and when to escalate.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain processes, share findings, and work effectively with teammates and leadership.

The budgeted range is: $20 - $23/hour.
