About the role:
The On-Premises/Hybrid Cloud Engineer will serve as a senior technical expert, responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure. This role involves advanced troubleshooting, strategic planning, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability, security, and performance.
Required Qualifications
· Act as an escalation point for network-related incidents and service requests, providing expert support to the Infrastructure Team.
· Collaborate with department managers to develop long-term strategies for operational efficiency and cybersecurity enhancements.
· Design, implement, and maintain hybrid cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure, on-premises systems, and private cloud solutions.
· Manage and support high-transactional, 24x7 production environments spanning multiple data centers and cloud platforms.
· Administer and optimize Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure Active Directory (Entra ID).
· Configure and maintain virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V) and network components (SD-WAN, IPSec, BGP, Azure VPN, ExpressRoute).
· Support MuleSoft connectivity, custom middleware, and API-driven solutions for seamless application integration.
· Proficiently monitor Oracle-based workloads, ensuring optimal performance and integration within hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
· Leverage and maintain SAN technologies to ensure efficient storage management, high availability, and performance optimization.
· Implement and manage backup, restore, and recovery operations using tools like Veeam for both traditional and high-availability cloud/premise systems.
· Ensure robust network security, including traffic routing, network segmentation, load balancing, caching, and secure tunneling.
· Monitor system performance and security using XDR, MTR, MDM, and RMM tools, ensuring compliance with standards like PCI DSS.
· Automate infrastructure tasks and create system images using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or SQL scripting.
· Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.
Preferred Skills
· Above-average communication skills, with strong cross-functional collaboration capabilities to work effectively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Product Owners, and vendors such as Managed Service Providers (MSPs), ERP support teams, and Oracle DB architects.
· Strong experience with cybersecurity principles, including threat mitigation, vulnerability management, and secure configuration practices.
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and SD-WAN technologies for optimized cloud and network performance.
· Proficiency in Oracle Linux administration and supporting API-driven solutions for seamless integration.
· Extensive experience configuring and managing Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms.
· Strong expertise in backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring business continuity across hybrid and on-premises environments.
· Previous experience supporting retail infrastructure and applications are highly desirable.
· Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator) and Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable.
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, and/or 7+ years of related IT work experience
· Minimum of four (4) years of Systems Administration experience
· Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with Microsoft Azure Cloud
· Minimum of three (3) years of network engineering work experience
· Preferred Microsoft Certification: AZ-104
