About the Role:

Reporting to the Area Manager, the Store Manager leads all store operations, merchandising, and team performance. You’ll be responsible for maximizing profitability while delivering a best-in-class guest experience and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for employees and guests. From inventory management and visual merchandising to hiring, training, and coaching, you’ll build a knowledgeable, accountable team prepared to deliver a great experience throughout the winter season.

This position is expected to begin in late October and will be a full-time seasonal role, with the possibility of transitioning to year-round employment for the right candidate. Employee housing is available in Norwood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, inventory management, and loss prevention.
  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience by modeling outstanding service and ensuring the team consistently meets company standards.
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, coach, and develop seasonal store employees.
  • Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance, attendance, service, and operational standards.
  • Manage sales performance and execute strategies to achieve or exceed revenue and profitability goals.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through receiving, replenishment, cycle counts, transfers, and regular inventory audits.
  • Execute visual merchandising standards and ensure the store is clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Partner with the Area Manager and other store leaders to share best practices and address operational challenges.
  • Monitor store expenses and manage labor in alignment with business needs and company guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, employment laws, and applicable regulations.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Support additional operational needs and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous retail management experience, preferably in apparel, outdoor, sporting goods, or a related industry.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales goals and manage store performance.
  • Experience with inventory management, merchandising, scheduling, and cash handling.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale systems, inventory systems, and standard workplace technology.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings during peak season.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the store for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

The salary range for this position is $60,000–$66,000 annually. Actual pay will be based on experience.

Bonus eligible based on company performance indicators.
